Panzhihua city in Wuxi City and Wuxi Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement, the company clearly will invest 8.0 billion in three phases in Panzhihua City, the building of large-scale solar photovoltaic grid-connected power generation project.
Panzhihua Municipal Committee, deputy secretary, Mayor Liu Xiaohua attended the agreement signing ceremony and delivered a speech, city leaders Zhang Yan, Deng Xing, Wu Wen-Fa attended the signing ceremony. Xu Jianmin, deputy mayor on behalf of Panzhihua municipal government and head of Suntech signed a cooperation agreement.
Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. is the first in the United States listed on the New York Stock Exchange, a private high-tech enterprise specializing in crystalline silicon solar cells, components, thin-film solar cells, photovoltaic power generation systems, and building-integrated photovoltaic product development, manufacturing and sales. By the end of 2008, the company has formed a production capacity of 1000 MW of solar cells, one of the world photovoltaic top three. Panzhihua city, sunny days throughout the year and the sun is direct radiation, with an annual sunshine time of about 2300-2700 hours, solar energy resources are extremely rich.
To promote the development of solar photovoltaic power generation, rational development and utilization of Panzhihua city, the rich solar energy resources, by mutual consent on the building of Panzhihua city, large-scale grid-connected PV project reached a cooperation framework agreement. Under the agreement, will be Panzhihua City in the planning, phased construction, operation, and solar photovoltaic power generation projects with a total installed capacity of 500 megawatts. Suntech’s fund-raising project is the construction in three phases, including a 50 MW, two 150 MW, 3 300 MW, the project total investment of about 8.0 billion. Construction sites initially identified as the Yanbian 10000 ridge, Renhe District 5 of your pond, Futian District, Renhe Town, mountains and other places.
